This was my first home and my first build and naturally, I was nervous. I understand there are delays during this climate; people just want their homes done, and inflation has thrown a spanner in. This can be an incredibly stressful experience and considering the building industry strains, I had a wonderful experience. Select Homes identified all the needed requirements for the build without raising the initial quoted price. This honestly was a great experience.

At Select Homes, we like to pride ourselves on our team of experts. Our Managing Director, Warren, is no exception. Warren is not your typical Managing Director, he is also our Architectural Designer & is a licensed builder with over 40 years of experience in the industry.
His rare combination of creative vision and technical expertise allows him to bring your ideas to life while also ensuring that your vision is achievable within your given budget. He knows what works and what doesn’t, so you can be confident that your project is in good hands.
When asked what motivates him at work, Warren said, “Making a customer’s ideas a reality really excites me. There’s something very satisfying in taking a customer’s ideas, designing something special and then seeing it to completion.” Warren acknowledges that long jeopardy doesn’t come easy in this industry and says that understanding the highs and lows of the industry is key to success.
Warren played rugby until he was 40 and is still a keen follower of the sport. So when he isn’t managing Select Homes, you’ll catch him watching rugby, coaching his son’s team, gardening, fishing, or in the shed working on a classic car.
With over 25 years of experience in the building industry and prior experience in the banking industry, Marie is a true asset to our team.
She handles the accounts, advertising, and office management at Select Homes, but she’s also a whizz when it comes to interior design. Her eye for detail and her passion for creative arts allows her to give our clients some incredible advice and ideas when designing their new homes.
When asked what the best part of her job is, Marie said, “Seeing happy customers when they move into their dream home.” As you can tell, Marie is genuinely passionate about her work. She likes being a part of a small team as she values working closely with clients throughout the build, getting to know them better, and often even becoming friends by the end of it!

Toby has always been driven to build homes that people will love – in fact, he has always wanted to be a builder ever since he was young! He brings a wealth of experience to the Select Homes team, having worked on a wide range of projects in both the Waikato and Canterbury regions for over 35 years.
At Select Homes, Toby deals with coordinating with contractors and suppliers, communicating with clients, client inspections including CCC, and quality control.
Toby says, “Great build time and being able to give quality assurance is what makes Select Home exceptional”.
What motivates Toby is the chance to see a project through from start to finish and making sure that it is a great experience for the homeowners. He believes that each home is a unique opportunity to create something truly special. We’re lucky to have Toby on our team!
